Chapter 4 centers around a Bowling Green original- the Country Ham Motel. The Country Ham Motel was located next door to Chuck and Maxie’s liquor store at 100 State Street. One day, it was announced to the family that Chuck and Maxie were the new owners of the Country Ham Motel. Here’s a preview of what you will read about in Chapter 4:
- Chuck’s history (or lack of) in the country ham and motel industries.
- Chuck’s brother-in-law Armando who managed the business.
- Which brought in more revenue: country ham sales or room rentals.
- The real reason why Chuck and Maxie bought the Country Ham Motel.
Chapter 4 is one of the shorter chapters of the book, but also one that touches upon the most unique motel ever created. I’ll preview Chapter 5 in the next blog post. Chapter 5 talks about the event that happened in Bowling Green that sent Chuck and Maxie “back to the drawing board.”
