My last chapter preview left off with Chuck’s 4th liquor store in Bowling Green with the opening of Chuck’s of Hartland. Now, Chuck was ready to venture to other places to open more stores. The next on his list was Owensboro for a store that would become Chuck’s #5. This store was so, so close to being a reality. In this chapter, you will read about:
- Why Owensboro was Chuck’s most favored city in which to open a new store.
- How the growing east side of Owensboro presented a number of great possible locations for a store.
- The management team that was already being put into place for Chuck’s #5.
- With construction plans ready to go, something happened that prevented the construction of this store.
If it ever opened in Owensboro, Chuck’s #5 would have been a successful store. But Owensboro was not the only city and Kentucky was not the only state that Chuck was thinking about. In my next chapter preview, we’ll look at some other locations that were considered for liquor store. Thanks for following along!
Everybody in Barren County counted on him opening a store in Glasgow. That was a big rumor for years.
