The title of Chapter 5 (as of right now) is “Finding a Partner”. Chuck and Maxie decided to move locations as the city limits of Bowling Green expanded. They partnered with J. K. Travelsted, a local CPA, in two new liquor stores. One was called Northgate Liquors and the other Chuck’s Liquors. In this chapter, you will read about:
- Chuck and Maxie’s new partner in the liquor business
- Some background into Northgate Liquors. This store does not exist anymore, but it was located where the current U & V Liquors is located.
- The beginnings of a large volume liquor store known as Chuck’s Liquors. This store does not exist anymore either. A Huck’s convenience store at the I-65 interchange is where this “original Chuck’s Liquors” used to be.
- Chuck began to put into practice the lessons learned at 100 State Street, but on a much larger scale.
These two stores were a profitable venture for Chuck, Maxie and J. K. What could possibly go wrong? I’ll post a preview of Chapter 6 in the next few days. Thanks so much for following along.
Are you going to make this into a book?
The book is finished! My editor is proofreading it right now, so hopefully by this spring it will be printed
