In Chapter 10 of Life Behind the Counter, the Story of Chuck Evans and his Liquor Stores, we will read about Chuck’s store on Three Springs Road. This store was officially known as Chuck’s Wine and Spirits, but we just simply referred to it as Chuck’s #2. In Chapter 10, you will read about:
- Why wine and liquor were more expensive in Hopkinsville than in Bowling Green.
- A look at the very successful store known as the Greenwood Spirit Shoppe.
- A look at a store currently owned by Steve Haswell known as I-65 Liquors.
- An absolutely unbelievable event in the local liquor industry that was the lucky break that Chuck was needing.
- The wildly popular wine tastings at this store.
Chuck’s #2 was a force in the local liquor and wine scene. You will read some of the inside stories that made it so successful. In my next preview, I will talk about a store that became known as Chuck’s #3: Chuck’s Liquor Outlet at the corner of Morgantown Road and Veteran’s Memorial Blvd. Thanks for following!
